Exam Results - 4 August 2026
Whether you're feeling excited, nervous, relieved, or all three at once, that's completely normal.
On Tuesday 4 August 2026, thousands of young people across Scotland will receive their qualifications results. Whatever your results look like, remember: they are not the whole story.
Your Certificate
Your Scottish Qualifications Certificate shows all of your qualifications, grades, when you achieved them, and their SCQF level.
If something doesn't seem right, or results are missing, speak to the school straight away. We're here to help. Although your Teachers are still on holiday you can email us at KinrossHigh@pkc.gov.uk and we will pass that on when staff return on 17 August.
Results not what you expected?
Not everyone gets the results they were hoping for and it might be time to consider plan B. While you might be disappointed, take a breath. Don't make any rushed decisions. These results don't define you, they are only part of your journey.
If you are leaving school or considering whether returning is the right option for you, reach out to the Skills Development Scotland helpline on 0808 100 8000. They can talk to you about clearing, college and career options.

Appeals
The Qualification Scotland appeals process opens at 08:00am on 4 August and can be accessed here.
If you're concerned that there may have been a mistake in the marking of a National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher qualification, you can explore the Appeals Service.
If your place at college, university or employment depends on the outcome of the appeal, you can apply for a priority appeal, but you must register this request by 11 August 2026.
If you're not sure what to do, your teachers can help you understand whether an appeal is appropriate for your situation. You will have time to speak to them when term begins on 18 August 2026.
Can I get my results from the school by telephone?
No, if you want to get your results from school you will need to come in person and bring photo ID with you.
Can you give my results to my parents?
We can only give your results to you in person.
Can I speak to my teacher or guidance teacher on results day?
Remember the school is still on holiday. Teachers will not be available until term begins on 18 August 2026.
How do I register an appeal?
Visit the Qualifications Scotland website here.
Can the school submit some of my work to support an appeal?
The appeals process checks
- all parts of your Qualifications Scotland assessments have been marked;
- the marks given for each answer have been added correctly; and
- the correct result has been entered on the system
No other evidence will be considered as part of the appeal process.
When is the results day celebration?
Tuesday 4 August 2026 between 12 and 1pm in the assembly hall.
Who is the celebration event for?
Regardless of your results, members of the senior leadership team will be on hand for you to talk to on results day between 12 and 1 pm.
