The NHS have introduced their new website www.careers.nhs.scot.  It is a great resource for schools, pupils and parents. It highlights the range of different jobs available in the NHS, from gardener through to doctor, including information on entry requirements and vacancies. It's linked closely with My World of Work and www.apprenticeships.scot so information will be shared across these sites.

There's also a section aimed specifically at young people (and parents) with information about Modern Apprenticeships and work experience.

The NHS is in the process of developing a whole range of apprenticeship opportunities for young people and although it's early days we should see them starting to appear - although it may be this time next year when we really begin to see them established. The vacancies would be advertised on the new website (www.careers.nhs.scot ) and also on www.apprenticeships.scot
