Professional Development Awards in Patisserie - SCQF 7

Where:  Perth College

When:  Every Friday 9am – 4pm (You will be required to make your own way to Perth)

Who: This course is for school students who are interested in baking and who will enjoy creating sweet and savoury baked products.   You will develop practical skills in craft baking, bread making, cake decorating and pastry.  This award is aimed at candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in the bakery/catering or food industries.
Entry Requirements :   Miniumum 1x Higher plus interview in college, preferable to have N5 Practical Cookery/Cake Craft

Units:

Fermented Patisserie Products – 1 credit
Food Hygiene Intermediate – 1 credit (Next stage from Elementary Food Hygiene completed in S3)
Patisserie – 2 credits
Product Cookery – Sweets and Desserts – 2 credit

Progression: The Units in this NPA gives pupils a platform which will allow them to progress on to further education or into employment.
