This course studies the physical world around us and expands knowledge to look at the wider universe. There is a substantial practical element to the course and learners are taught good laboratory practice and develop strong numerical skills.
Learners are expected to have studied Physics successfully at S3 level. If this was not the case entry would be accepted if the learner had shown strong performance in at least one other science.
Written exam (2.5hrs) = 80%
Practical assignment = 20%
Provides a solid foundation to learn Higher Physics. National five is also often an entry requirement for further study at college.
