BGE S3 and National 4 & 5 RMPS

 The National courses aim to encourage pupils to develop a range of transferrable skills such as: investigation, research, questionning and analysis. The courses enable learners to investigate and explain religious, moral and philosophical questions and responses, make comparisons, and develop the ability to express detailed and reasoned views.

The S3 BGE Phase includes a SKILLS course based on a variety of topics. This will help our students to develop the fundamental skills of our National courses such as: research, presentation, analysis, sources, different viewpoints...to name a few.

  • Morality & Belief- Religion and Justice
  • Religious & Philosophical Questions- Existence of God
  • Added Value Unit- Personal Research

2014/15- 2015/16 (S3 Courses)

  • Morality & Belief- Religion, Medicine & the Human Body
  • Religious & Philosophical Questions- Existence of God
  • Added Value Unit- Personal Research

 Higher RMPS

This Course is comprised of 3 Units and is assessed both internally by unit assessments and externally by assignment and exam. It can be undertaken either in Fifth or Sixth Year.

1. We research into Buddhism first to discover what it says about our Human condition; the ultimate goals for Buddhists and how they seek to achieve them.

2. We research the various moral viewpoints that impinge upon issues relating to Crime and Punishment.

3. Our philosophical investigations into arguments surrounding Scientific and Religious methodology lead us to investigate the Theories of the Big Bang and Evolution versus liberal and fundamental theologies in a Unit titled Christianity Belief and Science
