Aims & Ethos

At Kinross High School we understand both the importance and relevance of Drama and recognise the wide range of ways Drama can influence and develop students in today’s society. Students develop their confidence and performance skills while working in groups and individually. Students are exposed to a wide range of theatre styles from the traditional to the contemporary. We visit professional theatre frequently providing valuable opportunities for students. Drama is a group-based subject that requires the students’ dedication and consistent attendance as assessment is often in small groups and pairs. Students need to understand and commit to both the practical and written components of drama.

Overall, the course promotes personal growth and aims to build self-confidence, leadership skills, team work skills, develop creativity and encourage an appreciation of the entertainment world through activity-based learning.
